1. Inspection

Before Timber Ridge starts their detailed process to preserving your log home, we search for any signs of water damage, insect infestation and sealing issues. After our thorough inspection, we discuss any areas of concern and prepare the home for a air-tight seal. Contact us to schedule an inspection on your pre-existing log home or cabin.

2. Preparation

Timber Ridge Log Homes provides a fresh start for preparing and sealing the wood by stripping down each log to the bare wood. By removing all of the original worn, peeling and lower quality paint or stain, it allows a fresh surface to apply an even coat and tone of new stain. We then begin with a clean surface to prepare the logs for preservation process. Timber Ridge uses a low pH wood cleaner to remove all dirt, grime, pollen and surface mold and mildew without harming the wood. As opposed to harsh bleach solutions, our log wash does not cause stress or upset the natural pH balance of the wood. If the wood fibers are damaged, iron stains develop and the logs will have a grey, dull appearance.A light cleaning once a year will help keep your home looking brilliant and beautiful, while prolonging the life of the exterior's finish to withstand harsh weather conditions which can become a settling ground for dirt, pollen and other contaminants that encourage mold growth
